A Promise Chirp

By Deborah Martinez

Not again! This winter will never end! As the wind whips at 50 miles per hour, and snow pelts against the windows as they rattle, we are just trying our best to stay safe and warm.

As morning dawns, it is time to clear the drive and sidewalks. The sun is shining, but the roads are unpassable, everything shut down. Neighbors are bundled to the point you can only see their eyes. Kids are waddling about in their snow gear trying to play.  Parents are shoveling and snow blowing, only to pile it ten feet high.

Thank goodness, the birds are chirping, spring is near.
